Biology is broad and memory-heavy; Physics and Chemistry stay quantitative. Almost the entire stream points at one exam — NEET — so the pressure concentrates into a single day.

Take it if

You're genuinely interested in bodies, living systems, medicine or research, and you're prepared for a long training path — an MBBS plus specialisation runs close to a decade.

Don't take it if

Someone else wants a doctor in the family. This is the least forgiving stream to enter without conviction, because the alternative careers within it are less obvious than in PCM.

After Class 12

5.5 years MBBS including internship, then 3 more for specialisation

What the work looks like

Long, structured, respected and demanding. Government medical seats are cheap and fiercely contested; private seats are among the most expensive education in India.

Money

Government MBBS: low fees. Private and deemed: very high. Plan this before Class 12, not after the result.

The part nobody says

The alternatives inside PCB — nursing, physiotherapy, allied health, biotech, agriculture, research — are real careers with far shorter runways, and are worth knowing early rather than discovering after a missed NEET.
